  • Do you remember the Goalpost?
  • Does anyone remember the Rod-a-Rue? It was a place on Center Street where the First Citizen's bank parking lot is now that offered ice cream and other food items in the early 1930s.
  • Name of an eastside cafe: This small cafe that i speak of was located on the east side of town where Ricks Tavern was located and now is a small liquor store, I am now 39 and my memory of this small cafe was back when me and my father (now deceased) since I was 12, would go there to eat,, a woman owned it, I believe her name was Charmaine, making the name of the small cafe *Charmaine's* (spelling may not be correct) I would of been 8-11 yrs old at the time, the cafe itself only held but maybe 20 customers but was always busy, she had great food at a very reasonable price! Im hoping that some of the coffee clutchers here in town may remember this cafe, as my memory was that of when I was a child and not to clear. I also remember she sold alot of things that people would make and bring into her to sell for them, one being a big stuffed golden lion that my father purchased for me and i still own :) If there is anyone whom can remember this little cafe, plz give any other info I may be forgeting or just your output on the cafe, as I do believe in my heart that she is one that should not go unnoticed for her business here in Whitewater during the late 70's, thx :)

If you can remember, please add your comments here or at the bottom of the page. Thanks!

Suggestions:

Anonymous: It is possibly the Red Forge. The Red Forge was there in the 50's and 60's. In the 60's it was owned by Bonnie Krohn.
