"My aunt and uncle, Virgina and Joseph Callen, owned the Red Forge Drive-in also. He built two additional apartments onto the back. Another thread was asking about the location. It was located at the corner of South Esterly Street and East Milwaukee Street/Hwy12/Hwy 59. I lived on South Esterly Street from Kindergarten through third grade so would walk there to see Aunt Ginny and Uncle Joe and to have one of the Red Forge's wonderful soft-serve ice cream cones. "The Forge" was a local favorite and one of their best carhops was Mavis Krohn. In front of the apartments there was a small decorative fish pond that held very large goldfish."
