Schultz Brothers
Ahhh yes...Schultz...there are no stores like that one around any more. My sister worked there.I remember you could buy all kinds of candy..all behind glass windows...they would measure it for you and put it in a white bag...yum...my best, fun memories of Schultz Brothers were my friend Patty and I going in there and buying TONS of Beatle bubblegum...with the picture cards inside....still have those cards...then...you could also play the 45 records..before you'd buy them...try them out...so we would listen to The Beatles...what else!!! So much fun in the dime store!!......oh yes...I'm not sure just yet how to figure out this site, but this memory is from PINKBUG....bet you could tell..if you saw any of my other tidbits.....
We called it the dime store. We would ride our bikes down there and get whatever candy we could afford at the time. It had an upstairs and downstairs, which was kind of neat. They had everything. Once I bought a black and white 10 inch television from there for about $50 for my room. I think we annoyed the cashiers because we'd always buy 3 cent pieces of Bazooka, and that was it!

I believe Kettwigs Appliance Store (Chris & Cecile) is the place one could play records before they bought them

Say...this IS interesting....well...we moved to Whitewater from Pennsylvania in 1955...so guess I totally missed the Kettwigs record/gift shop.....The one over that way I got my very first Beatles record from was Helen's....poor lady...I was walking past...saw...Meet The Beatles....it was hanging up high by the ceiling...I went in and asked her for it...she actually got out the ladder...climbed up and got it down for me. I remember wondering if I was the first person in Whitewater to buy a Beatle record from town. She did say it was the only copy she had. Well...guess I must have been her favorite pain in the neck..haha...for a long time I had her special order records for me...still have them.....gosh...I bed you were as bit angry that Blue Suede Shoes wasn't the one by Elvis! DARN!!! 1953 in Whitewater....guess we were not too far behind.....Do you still live in Whitewater????
