Scrapbook - Whitewater Home-Coming

Lilac scented breeze
Butterflies and bees
Green scent of Spring
Almost over for Summer
fun Sparklers and parades
Watermelon kisses
dandelions chained together
To necklaces that yellowed
the touch Bronzed faces
With traces of popsicles trailed
Along the sidewalk to the house
Where slumber parties met with silly giggles
And painted toes
Meant that you were on your way
To a new age of dreams
Like boys and dances
begging to wear lipstick and shadow
Not quite understanding why not
Little girl dancing at the edge of childhood

From Terrie Munger, May 8

Moonlit Love
as morning dawns with the light
night fades out with grace
moon remains in shadowed view
hidden from his bride's face
the early morning choir begins
birds songs fill the air
Sun, she peeks o'er the rise
on the eastern keys
pretty flowers start to sing
waking up the breeze
so wake up with the choir and sing
rise to see lover's light
when the noon has come and gone
when light is in the west
Moon will kiss his bride goodnight
leaving her to rest

Prints of my Watercolor paintings of Whitewater are available at the Double Dip Deli. I was inspired to paint these scenes so that future generations will see Whitewater through an artist eye.
