The Brass RailThis is a featured page

The Brass Rail, named for the brass rail originally installed, was started in 1964 by Lorraine Miller and her husband in its present spot on the north side of Main Street, at the intersection with Whitewater Street and near the old mill race. It was then and perhaps still now the "classiest bar in town." The brass rail was removed from the bar and relocated to a wall, where it remains today.

Contributed by Tom Miller: Brass was built in January 1964 by Jim and Lorraine Miller. They operated the Brass Rail until 1974 when Jim Miller passed away. Their youngest son, Tom, entered the business and operated the Brass Rail with his mother until it was sold in 1979.

John Cordio (Johnny C) purchased from the Millers in 1979. It was later sold to Harold and Jeff Reid. Harold was later bought out by Dave Bergman.
