The Busy BeeThis is a featured page

My Mom and step-dad (John and Marcy Armstrong) owned it from 1960-1966/67.

In that time we moved it from where Longwood (that civil war clearing house)
is on Center Street to the corner where Gus's is now in 1961, to the Main Street
location where the Mexican Restaurant is (161 W. Main) in 1962.

So needless to say, I grew up in Downtown Whitewater. Starting by stocking
soda at age 9 in 1960 to being the weekend (after bar closing) cook in 1966.

The Busy Bee provided space for a coffee house called the Fertile Turtle, which had live performances by folk musicians, Whitewater's John Valentine for one.

When I was in college at Whitewater, the Busy Bee was our favorite "breakfast" restaurant - especially after staying up "studying" all night long!!
